The next NCMA DC dinner meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at the Holiday Inn Capitol. We are honored to welcome the Honorable Althea (Allie) Coetzee Leslie, Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA), as our keynote speaker. Ms. Leslie will discuss the State of the Union for small business programs, the SBA's recent accomplishments, and future initiatives.
After the Deputy Administrator's remarks, small business advocates Jackie Robinson-Burnette and Adrian Rich will provide their real world impressions of the state of small business and how the SBA's priorities will impact them.
About our Speakers: A retired Navy 2-star Rear Admiral, Ms. Leslie graduated from the Naval Academy and received her MBA (Law) from National University, where she was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award. She held a number of contracting positions while in the Navy.
Ms. Leslie most recently served as the Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L). In this role, Ms. Leslie facilitated the Under Secretary's leadership of AT&L across the offices of five Assistant Secretaries of Defense, 11 directorates, and several defense agencies.
The response panel will be led by Ms. Robinson-Burnette, Government Contracting Expert at Live Oak Bank. Prior to starting at Live Oak in 2017, Jackie served as the highest-ranking career Senior Executive for federal small business contracting programs with the SBA. In this role, she was responsible for implementing all federal small business contracting programs, including the set-aside program that awards $99B in contracts each year. Jackie also held the positions of the Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Government Contracting & Business Development and the Associate Administrator, Office of 8(a) Business Development.
Joining Jackie will be Mr. Rich, a Principal at Simple Technology Solutions, a small business that recently won a $97M IDIQ with SPAWAR. Adrian came into the federal arena leading major software development and business intelligence programs at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) while serving as Vice President of Professional Services and Business Development at Enterprise Solutions Realized. Most recently, Mr. Rich was a Senior Director of Business Development at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). At GDIT, he was responsible for understanding DHS mission needs and sharing GDIT’s solution capabilities.
