LT Matthew Clute is a recent graduate of the MBA Contracting and Acquisition Management Curriculum at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. After graduating with distinction from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, he attended Naval Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL and received his commission as a Supply Officer in September of 2004.
His follow on tours were as Disbursing and Sales Officer of the Frigate USS Jarrett (FFG 33), Intern and Action Officer on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, and as Supply Officer of the Destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88).
Of note, LT Clute recently passed the exam for Certified Professional Contracts Manager with NCMA. He was the first NPS student to pass the exam while attending the school in the last 10 years. His thesis, “Determining The Value Of Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) Narratives For The Acquisition Process” was recently featured at the 2014 Acquisition Research Symposium in Monterey, CA.
In July, LT Clute will assume duties as a Contracting Officer working on strike weapons and unmanned aerial systems at Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, MD.
