NCMA DC is proud to recognize Amar Medatia and Glenda Urgiles for their selection for the prestigious and highly competitive NCMA Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP). The CMLDP is designed to develop the next generation of acquisition and NCMA leaders. Program participants receive 180 hours of training in fundamental leadership, association volunteerism, NCMA governance, and contract management during this intensive, year-long educational experience.
Amar Medatia, CFCM, is the founder and CEO of SAMCorp, a contract management consulting firm. Medatia started his career as a Contract Specialist with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) before moving over to the Department of Commerce. Prior to his current endeavor, Amar was a Senior Contract Manager for RedJack in Silver Spring, MD. Amar earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing and International Business from The George Washington University. He also holds a Masters Degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University.
Glenda Urgiles, MBA, is a Lead Contracting Officer at the General Services Administration (GSA). Before joining the federal government, Urgiles served in the United States Army as an Aviations Operations Specialist. Upon her honorable discharge from the Army, Glenda joined the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and worked her way up to the position of Contracting Officer. She joined the contracting team at GSA almost three years ago. Glenda earned her undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership from Fordham University. She also holds an MBA from Strayer University.
