Wesley Dewalt is a Contracting Officer (CO) with the General Services Administration (GSA), Federal System Integration and Management (FEDSIM) Center Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Group providing pre and post award acquisition and project management support on large, complex multi-million dollar Information Technology (IT) projects. Wesley manages a project portfolio valued over $1 billion for major programs in every branch of the military for CONUS and OCONUS ranging from enterprise network support to next generation IT enterprise.
Wesley began his Government career as a Contracts Specialist (CS) with GSA’s Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center (IWAC) negotiating, awarding, and administrating furniture contracts under the Federal Supply Schedules program. Wesley then joined GSA FEDSIM as a CS supporting DoD acquisitions and eventually rose through the ranks to become a CO within the same group. As a CO, Wesley’s job requires that he not only provide daily acquisition and project management support, but that he also remains knowledgeable of the latest DoD policies, acquisition policies/procedures, negotiation strategies, and industry technology.
In addition, Wesley serves a mentor and trains new employees/ interns at GSA. Within NCMA, Wesley successfully completed the NCMA Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP) and was recently published in September 2012 edition of CM Magazine for his article titled “Contract Management – The Next Generation: A New Professional’s View on Contract Management.”
Wesley is a native of Charlotte, NC. He received a dual B.S. in Information Systems and Decision Sciences and Finance from Virginia State University and earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College.
