What’s Going On?

Applications Open for the Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP)

It’s that time again, but the deadline to apply is much earlier this year! Applications for the Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP) class of program year 2020-2021 (PY21) are available and must be submitted by May 1, 2020 before 11:59pm ET. Selection into this 10-month program is a very competitive process and is managed by NCMA’s national headquarters office. The program is designed to develop our next generation of contract management leaders. The number of students selected may vary between 15-25 participants in total nationwide. Applicants will be notified if they have been selected for the online interview in mid-June. Online interviews will be scheduled in June, July, or August. Accepted candidates will be notified by late August, and the CMLDP PY21 class will begin on October 1, 2020.    

The application is free, but you must be a member of NCMA to participate. Participants or their employers are responsible for travel-related costs to attend in-person training events (SubCon, World Congress, and GCMS). Participants receive more than160 CPE hours of quality education and have the opportunity to publish two professional papers in the Contract Management Magazine. 

Please read and follow the application instructions carefully when preparing and submitting your package. As a DC Chapter member, you will need a Ietter of support from our chapter president, Thomas Sharpe. Please do not wait until May 1 to request the letter of support. The Washington, DC Chapter is a strong supporter of the CMLDP. The chapter currently has three members in the PY20 class, Demetirus Cook, Raven Cornelius, and Brendan Jones, scheduled to graduate at the 2020 World Congress. We are so proud of our PY20 CMLDP class and look forward to celebrating their graduation and watching their careers progress for years to come!
